My journey as a long distance runner who started the sport later in life.
I blog so sporadically I don’t even remember what I said last time, other than I had fallen off the running wagon and that I was trying to get back on it. I am happy to report that the month of April was a running success compared the the months before it (below, right). I have the Earthathon Relay in part to thank for being motivated. This data clearly shows that I truly had been languishing since my final goal race back in September 2015.
My plan was to run every other day for the entire month and I did, outside of one minor deviance for a local 5K charity race on April 17, 2016 (below, right). I am trying not to let this break in the checkerboard pattern on my Garmin calendar bother me too much (below, left). I started running every other day using 1:1 run:walk intervals and today (above, left), my final run of April, was 6:1 intervals. It won’t be long until I am back to the 10:1 intervals I usually employ. I have also purchased a 5K goal race ticket for May 28, 2016 to encourage me to stick with it. That’s all for now, folks!
